AI follow up email generator: see the follow-up after the demo written

This page plays a preview of AfterDemo's AI follow up email generator with made-up deals: it picks where the deal is, reads what's going on and a sample of the seller's own writing, then writes one short follow-up with a subject line and one clear ask. In AfterDemo it works from your real call notes and proposal, and you approve every word.

  • The drafting works from three inputs: the deal stage, what's going on in the deal, and an email you wrote.
  • Each follow-up stays under 120 words, carries one small ask and avoids phrases like "just checking in".
  • It uses only the facts it has and leaves out any name, date or number that is missing.
  • Right after the demo, send a same-day recap of what the buyer told you and the one next step you agreed.
  • When a deal has gone quiet, give the buyer an easy way to say "not now".

Where is the deal?

  • Right after the demo
  • Proposal sent, no reply yet
  • They've seen the price
  • Gone quiet for a few weeks
  • Verbal yes, waiting on paperwork

What’s going on

Sent Dana (ops manager, Juniper Row Plumbing) the proposal Thursday. Owner Marcus signs off. Her pain: two hours every morning rescheduling by phone. Marcus joins a call Tuesday.

An email you wrote, so it sounds like you

Hi Dana, quick one: I've put the numbers we talked about in the doc. Shout if anything looks off. Sam

Subject: Before Marcus joins on Tuesday

Hi Dana, Ahead of Tuesday's call with Marcus: is there anything in the proposal he'll want answered first? If it's the two hours of rescheduling every morning, I'll open with how the dispatch board handles a sick call. Happy to send him a one-pager beforehand. Sam

In AfterDemo, follow-ups are drafted from your own call notes and proposal, in your writing style. You approve every word before it goes.

Most follow-ups fail for the same reason: they're about the seller. "Just checking in" asks the buyer to do work and gives them nothing. This AI follow up email generator writes the opposite: a short email about the buyer's problem, with one small ask, in your own voice. If you'd rather start from a written example, our sales follow-up email templates cover the common situations after the demo.

How it writes the email

The preview above shows the three things the drafting works from:

  1. Where the deal is. One of five stages: right after the demo; proposal sent, no reply yet; they've seen the price; gone quiet for a few weeks; verbal yes, waiting on paperwork.
  2. What's going on. Who you're writing to, what they need, what's happened so far and what comes next. In AfterDemo this comes from your call notes and the proposal you sent.
  3. An email you wrote. It copies your length, formality, greeting and sign-off.

The drafting follows a few rules:

  • Fit the stage, and give the buyer a reason to reply that's about their problem, not about you.
  • One clear, small ask.
  • Use only the facts it has. No invented names, numbers, dates, discounts, deadlines, features or promises. If a detail is missing, it's left out.
  • Short: under 120 words.
  • No "just checking in", no "circling back", no "hope this finds you well".

What to put in "What's going on"

The email can only be as specific as your notes. Include:

  • The person's name and role, and who else is involved in the decision.
  • Their problem, in their words, if you have them.
  • What's happened: the demo, the proposal, the pricing conversation.
  • What's next, if anything is scheduled.
  • What you want from this email. A reply, a meeting, an introduction to the approver.

If you leave out a date or a name, the email won't make one up. It just won't mention it.

Picking the stage

  • Right after the demo: a recap of what they told you and the one next step you agreed. Send it the same day.
  • Proposal sent, no reply yet: point to the part of the proposal that answers their biggest problem, and offer help with whoever has to sign off.
  • They've seen the price: don't defend the number. Ask what they're comparing it against, or offer to help build the case.
  • Gone quiet for a few weeks: give them an easy way to say "not now". A clear no is worth more than silence. Our guide on what to do when a prospect goes silent after the proposal goes deeper.
  • Verbal yes, waiting on paperwork: make the next step small and concrete. Who needs to do what, and what can you take off their plate?

Before you send it

  • Read every line. It's a first draft from AI, and in AfterDemo nothing goes out until you approve it.
  • Check names, dates and anything that sounds like a commitment.
  • Add your link to the proposal or the next meeting yourself.
  • Send it from your own inbox, at a sensible time for the buyer.

Doing this inside AfterDemo

In AfterDemo, AI drafts follow-up emails in your writing style from what was said in the deal, and nothing reaches a buyer until you approve it. Proposal tracking shows who read which sections of your proposal and for how long, so you know when a follow-up is due and what it should be about. More on that in AI proposal drafts. Questions people ask

What am I seeing on this page?

A preview with made-up deals that shows how AfterDemo drafts a follow-up. Inside AfterDemo it works from your own call notes and proposal, and a free trial lets you try it on your real deals.

Who sends the email?

You do. In AfterDemo you read the draft, change anything you like and send it from your own inbox. Nothing reaches a buyer until you approve it.

How does it match my writing style?

It copies the length, formality, greeting and sign-off of emails you've written, so the follow-up sounds like you rather than a template.

Will it make up details?

No. It uses only what's in your notes and the proposal. If a name, date or number is missing, it leaves it out instead of guessing.
